I work with wonderful groups of leaders, and they often get stuck with the concept of legacy, they consider that it takes big world changing actions of people in power to leave a legacy. You may do to?
This story for me epitomises that it is the opposite, which is the case.
A family goes on holiday in a small cabin in a wooded area, and the cabin has a fireplace. When they venture out to get firewood they see a tiny little sign above the firewood and it says:
‘ If you are able, please leave the pile a little higher’
When they look down they are astounded by the abundance of firewood.
This is what legacy is; it is about leaving the pile higher with the people you meet every day at home, at work, with your clients, with your community.
I invite you to join the Rocking Ur Teens legacy project. We believe that Teens need guidance and support now more than ever, and that’s why we created Rocking Ur Teens, a social enterprise that inspires, increases aspirations and makes social change happen. Getting teens on track for success.
Vote to expand our reach and to pitch to Richard Branson https://www.vmbvoom.com/pitches/rocking-ur-teens-1
And I’ll leave you with 3 questions:
- What’s your legacy?
- How will you leave the pile higher?
- What different choices will you make once you know what your legacy is?
