Too much to do and never enough time?
Is life a constant juggle where you’re giving so much to others that there’s little time and energy left for you?
Don’t worry, in today’s busy world, with our lives being more hectic than ever, you’re not alone. Many of us feel like this. We’re always trying to do more but with no more time to achieve it.
We’re so busy trying to give our best to our job or business, to be a good parent, a good partner, a good friend, a good daughter…the list goes on.
No wonder we all need some “me” time every so often, to escape from the pressures of everyday life, to relax, rejuvenate and re-imagine our future.
But how do you decide what kind of break is right for you?
Aside from yoga and spiritual retreats, the two main options are spa breaks and retreats.
Both offer the opportunity to get away, to relax, unwind and rejuvenate in beautiful surroundings. The rare opportunity to focus on yourself and to be selfish, in service of being the best person you can be, without being responsible for anyone else or anything.
But they differ in that after your spa break you’ll return to the same old routine and your break and its short term benefits will soon be forgotten.
Whereas on our Happenista retreats, as well as relaxing, you’ll also spend time thinking about what’s most important to you. So that you walk away feeling in control and with a plan to change your life for the better.
If your goal is to improve your work life balance, you will have a set of changes ready to put into place. Or if it’s to go for that promotion or develop your confidence, you’ll have crafted a plan with achievable steps to make sure you get there.
As well as the many success stories from past retreaters, the lasting benefits of attending our retreats are backed up by scientific research.
One study shows that changes take place in the brain when you attend a retreat. As well as short-term impact on the brain’s “feel good” dopamine and serotonin function, those who attended a retreat showed improvements in their perceived physical health, tension and fatigue.
The study highlights effects such as “reduced stress, and the capacity to produce life-changing results.”
Research by the Journal of Alternative and Complementary Medicine showed that attending a retreat can lead to substantial improvements in health and well-being that are maintained for at least 6 weeks.
One last tip…Do your Research
Once you’ve decided on the right kind of break for you, it’s important to do your research to check that you’re getting what you are looking for.
For our retreats you can take a look at testimonials or speak to someone who has attended before.
The next Happenista Retreat is the Dare to Dream retreat taking place on 8-9 Febrary 2020. Register your interest to find out more about the retreat and to be notified of earlybird and special offers. Bookings open on 18th September.
