Victoria Awele Griffith speaks on her experience of being coached by Jenny Garrett (in her own words)
Victoria’s Goals
My main objective was to position myself as the expert in my field as a Teen Domestic Violence facilitator and domestic violence advocator and become more visible on social media.
Goals Met
Issues addressed consisted of the impact I want to make in the wider world, through my story and the preventative work I do in school for young people. Who my niche is and how I intend to engage them and also standing my ground when it comes to charging organisations for the service I offer. Especially the money side in relation to knowing my worth and not selling myself short.
Changes Made
Our coaching conversations have enabled me to look beyond my current situation and focus on the long term goal at hand, which is to be more visible on social media and engage my audience consistently through regular write up or video blogs. Also, to become a published author so that I could reach a wider audience that I wouldn’t necessary reach via social media.
Return on investment
All of the above mentioned are still consistently active in the work I am currently doing. The coaching has helped me to visualise outcomes in relation to the current seeds I am sowing. It has definitely been money well spent, as I now end the session I will continue going forward with what I have learnt and continue to incorporate them to get the best results through my efforts and the work that I do. So much has changed since I began in January in terms of what I have achieved. I feel as though all the steps I have taken since then are taking me closer and closer to me creating the impact I desire to make in the world.
Working with Jenny
The most useful aspects of the coaching have been how jenny challenged my thinking in terms of thinking beyond what I see. Enabling me to always look at things from a different perspective and not giving up but being patient and trying over and over again until I get a win.
Challenges
The challenging aspect of coaching have been trying to stay focused and not go off track, but to remain on course even when I have been challenged financially. Being able to stay on course and have faith in myself and my ability to see my greatness within. This has been a little challenging but this has helped me to preserve regardless.
How to make the most of coaching
I would say …..be a good listener and follow the advice given by your coach.
In the future, how might you be using what you have gained from this coaching experience?
Some of what I have learnt will be everyday practice that I can use to support myself in my business and personally. Other aspects I could implement depending on what I am faced with at that point in time.
Final Comments
I would just like to say another big thank you to Jenny for being patient with me and supporting me to really focus in on the objective goal that was set at the initial stage of the coaching sessions and for bring me back to focus if and when I went off on a tangent. Plus the contacts and links she shared with me to help me get more clarity around certain ideas and even opportunities to bring me closer to what I am aiming to achieve.
